Tax Software, CINTAX, Password Request Form

We are fortunate in the OISS to have had the opportunity to purchase CINTAX once again. CINTAX is a free web-based software program designed to assist internationals with tax form preparation. It is available to Rice international students & scholars who have been in the U.S. for less than 5 years and are considered non-residents for tax purposes.

Please enter your information in the fields listed below to request your password for using the online software to complete your tax form 1040NR and form 8843. The password will be emailed to you along with login instructions. Please note that only one password will be given per person.

NOTE: If you are unsure whether or not you are considered a "resident" for tax purposes, CINTAX can help you make that determination. Unfortunately, it cannot help prepare the resident tax form 1040. Unfortunately, that is one of the limitations of the software. You can, however, purchase TurboTax or TaxCut software to help you with completing your Resident Alien 1040 tax form. TurboTax and TaxCut can be found online or at stores that sell computer software.
REMINDER: There will be a tax workshop on Wednesday, March 13, 2008 from 4pm - 7pm, in Keck Hall, Room 100. This will be your opportunity to ask your international tax questions.
